Foreigner (1984) Reaction To Action CAN 12″

Very Brief:
Three years following the multi-platinum album ‘4’, Foreigner returned with ‘Agent Provocateur’ in 1984.  The album contains Foreigner’s first and only #1 single on the Hot 100, “”I Want to Know What Love Is”.  “That Was Yesterday” followed up as the second single and it reached #12.  On today’s vinyl rip we’ll give a listen to the 3rd single from ‘Agent Provocateur’, “Reaction To Action”.  The song, written by Lou Gramm and Mick Jones, failed to reach the Top 40, rising only as high as #54.  A remix was commissioned for the single release and at the control board for that was Francois Kevorkian along with Frank Filipetti, Ron Saint Germain and Mick Jones.  In this humble blogger’s opinion, the remix greatly improved on the track, the Long Version on Side A is a really great mix and a must listen for rock fans, grab your copy and give me some feedback down below…

Not listened to this one yet, but another single from the same era ‘That Was Yesterday’ is another good one to look out for. Rock tracks don’t often lend themselves to being remixed/extended, but there are a number of good ones out there.

Aah, just noticed you’ve already posted that one! :$

Yep, that one’s been here a few years already, hope you enjoy this one.

It may have passed me by because I’d already ripped my own 12″. I have a UK 12″ of Cold As Ice (a reissue) that has a remix of this track on the flip side. I wonder if it is different or just the same mix under a new name?

Loved this remix,as it gave the album cut a different overall feel but without completely changing the track itself (like the “Red And Blue” remix of Yes’ “Owner Of A Lonely Heart” did)…however,I do miss the “Check one, one, one” of the album version, but i can easily fix that. Lol

While I really like the Red and Blue mix of OOALH, I really like this one, too. Like you say, it’s just extended and enhances the groove of the original.
