Kim Carnes (1986) Divided Hearts 12″ Promo

Very Brief:
The last album Kim Carnes recorded and released on the EMI America Records label was ‘Light House’ in 1986.  The only single to chart from the album was “Divided Hearts” and it failed to make the top 40.  A promo was issued for club play that featured remixes by Rusty Garner and Paul Sabu whose tagline on their remix credits is “An Endless Music Mix“.

I posted this a day early so that I can wish everyone celebrating the holiday tomorrow a very Happy Thanksgiving!  See ya’ll next week!

    No probs Richie !
Always wanted to hear this ‘Red Mix’ which as I suspected is a semi-acoustic type mix.
If anything they should have went with this version as the actual Single for it, if it was a bit shorter.
I might have ago at re-editing it myself !
Though I wish they’d gave it to ‘Jellybean’ as there is a pretty good tune trying to escape the remixing which Almost works ?
On the parent album Kim does a ‘stonkingly’ good cover of Frankie Miller’s – I’d Lie To You For Your Love (And That’s The Truth)… which to me was a much more obvious First Single choice !
Belatedly released in Europe but only got as far as a Promo in the US.
It makes you wonder who actually chooses them ?

In my imagination, they lay the album cover on a desk, cover it with scratch feed and put a chicken up there. Whatever song title the chicken pecks at, that’s the next single. Prove me wrong! LOL
