Lois Lane (1992) Qualified NL 7″

Very Brief:
“Qualified” was Lois Lane’s first single from their third album entitled ‘Precious’. Prince and Kirk Johnson are credited on the record with lyrics, music, production and arrangement. The only 7″ vinyl release of “Qualified” appeared in The Netherlands and Germany in 1992, it was also released there and in Europe as a CD single. In the US it appeared in the form of a 12″ single that featured 5 different mixes including the original mix on the a-side of this single. Over on the b-side is “Need A Little Space” which is an album track from ‘Precious’. The single did not chart in the US but, was a Top 40 hit in The Netherlands, reaching #14 on the MegaCharts, now known as the GfK Dutch Charts.

I have seen an increase of 7″ (singles) releases. I wonder if there’s a reason for it. As single mixes always seem to be the ones appearing on album releaes, but the 12″ is rarely added to releases. So isn’t this a Sisifus thing to do ?

So, what you’re telling me is, you don’t bother to read the things I write 😉 Check the lead paragraph on this month’s first post: http://djrichiep.us/prince-1989-the-future-eur-7/

And , no, sometimes there are different mixes on the 7″ singles than what appear on the album, sometimes the single mix is remixed for radio, sometimes the album cuts are edited on the 7″ for a more radio-friendly running time, sometimes a 7″ single is a one-off release that doesn’t appear on an album, sometimes a b-side on a 7″ doesn’t appear anywhere else. But, if you’re not interested in the 7″ releases that are running this month, come back in August for 12″ releases that may be more to your liking.
