In the midst of Prince’s name change to an unpronounceable symbol and his well publicized feud with Warner Bros., The New Power Generation and Prince (credited as Tora Tora) released the album ‘Exodus’ on NPG Records in Europe, Taiwan and Australia. The album produced three singles, “Get Wild”, “The Good Life” and “Count The Days”. The album was a true collaboration between Prince and the band members with everyone contributing on songwriting, music and instruments. This was a significant departure from the norm of Prince doing all the writing, arranging and most of the performing on his other projects. The album was never released in the US but, “The Good Life” was released commercially and promotionally in the US on 12″ vinyl and CD by NPG Records in conjunction with Warner Bros. Records. The 12″ single featured two remixes of “The Good Life”and two remixes of “Get Wild” all by Kirk Johnson. It also included the non-album track “Free The Music” and the album version of the title track.
