Rosie Gaines (1995) Are You Ready 12″

Very Brief:
In 1992, Rosie Gaines departed Prince’s New Power Generation to resume her solo career. Material was recorded for release on Paisley Park Records but, never materialized due to the contract battles between Prince and Warner Bros. Records. Eventually, Gaines would sign with Motown Records and release her third solo album ‘Closer Than Close’ in 1995. The album produced two singles; “I Want U (Inner City Blue)” and today’s record “Are You Ready”. This 12″ promo release features remixes by Rosie Gaines with Francis Jules. Rosie also co-wrote and produced the track.

Great song! I still am fond of this album, I think it was really overlooked at the time. Never heard any of these remixes I don’t think, looking forward to hearing them – thanks Richie 🙂

Thanks Richie, never heard the album, or these singles. Closer Than Close was also a single, always enjoyed that, released two years later though. Never knew she was “related” to Prince, I’m so uneducated 😀
