This 12″ promo from Sue Ann Carwell features remixes of her 1992 release “7 Days, 7 Nights”. Carwell was co-writer of the track produced by Laney Stewart. Of course, Sue Ann worked with Prince very early on in his career, perhaps his first “protege”. She laid down lead vocals on “Make It Through The Storm” in 1978 in Prince’s home studio and later released it as a b-side on the single for “Let Me Let You Rock Me“. Though, nothing ever materialized from her early work with Prince, she has worked in and around the Minneapolis music scene since then. She auditioned as the lead singer for The Time, had Jesse Johnson produce some tracks for her 1988 album ‘Blue Velvet‘, and her brother is T.C. Ellis. Her most recent release was 2010’s ‘Blues In My Sunshine‘, a blues collaboration between her and Jesse Johnson.
