The ‘Action Replay’ EP from 1986 was released in the US and Canada in support of the single “No One Is To Blame” from the Howard Jones LP ‘Dream Into Action’. The EP contained remixes and tracks that had previously been released only in the UK. In 2011 the UK trumped North America by reissuing the EP on CD. It has never been released in the US on CD.
“As We Lay”, produced by Roger Troutman, comes from Shirley Murdock’s first solo album. It was a Top 5 R&B hit and and a Top 40 pop hit in 1986-1987.
From David Sanborn’s 1994 LP ‘Hearsay’ comes his homage to Marvin Gaye. This 12″ features the cover of the classic Gaye tune “Got To Give It Up” in various remixes by Joe Ferla. Ferla is an engineer and producer that has worked with numerous artists like Roberta Flack, Marianne Faithfull, Keith Richards and Luther Vandross.
Here’s a UK 12″ single from David Sanborn’s 1992 LP ‘Upfront’. Remixes on this record were done by the Eezee Life Posse. I looked them up on Discogs, this is the only record credited to them and Google didn’t turn up anything either. Anyone got the scoop on the Posse?
