Michael Rodgers (1989) It's The Same Old Song 12" Promo

Back in March of 2012, I posted a promo 12″ from Michael Rodgers entitled “I Like It Like That” from the Coming To America soundtrack. Much to my surprise, the posting elicited a positive response from Michael himself. I was quite delighted by his response and so, I went in search of more Michael Rodgers records to share with you guys. And, I managed to find a couple more 12″ records from his 1989 album release ‘I Got Love’. Today’s record is a cover of “It’s The Same Old Song” which was a #5 hit on the Hot 100 in 1965 by The Four Tops. The song was written by the legendary Motown production team Holland–Dozier–Holland. This would be the second single released from ‘I Got Love’, if you take into account “I Like It Like That” which appeared on both Michael’s album and the soundtrack.
