Bar-Kays (1985) Your Place Or Mine 12″ Promo

Bar-Kays (1985) Your Place Or Mine 12" Promo

From 1981 to 1989, the Bar-Kays released 6 albums containing numerous songs that are continuously part of my listening habits to this day. Tracks like “Hit And Run”, “Freaky Behaviour”, “Traffic Jammer”, the entire ‘Propositions’ LP, “Dirty Dancer”, “Dance, Party, Etc.”, “Freakshow On The Dancefloor”, “Sexomatic”, “Certified True”, “Struck By You” and today’s record “Your Place Or Mine”. All of these tunes have that 80s funk sound, just banging bass, synths & keys layered all over with some guitar licks thrown in for effect. Yeah, I suppose if you go back and listen to all of those songs now, they sound a bit dated and definitely of their time period but, oh what a funky time it was. Required listening: the ‘Propositions’ LP, if you don’t have it, find it, own it, love it!
